Edwina McCann replaces Kirstie Clements on Vogue Australia
The chief executive of NewsLifeMedia, Nicole Sheffield, announced that Edwina McCann has been appointed editor-in-chief of the
number one prestige fashion brand Vogue Australia.
In her new role, which she starts in early July, Ms McCann will be responsible for the
Vogue Australia brand across print and digital platforms, including vogue.com.au. She will report to Ms Sheffield.
With 20 years’ experience in the luxury fashion market, Ms McCann
joins Vogue Australia from ACP Magazines where she has been editor of Harper’s Bazaar for the last three years.
“Vogue is an outstanding brand. Harnessing our multi-platform
offering through Vogue Australia, our extensive digital solutions and
events will change the style and fashion media landscape in Australia.
Our centralised multi-platform approach will create unparalleled
editorial and marketing solutions for all Australian women,” said Ms
Sheffield.
“Edwina McCann is highly respected in the industry with a strong
fashion background and extensive media experience. I’m very excited that
she will be leading this holistic approach and will bring to life ‘one
Vogue’ in Australia.”
Ms McCann said: “I started my career at Vogue and I am very excited
about returning to work for the world’s most powerful fashion media
brand. The opportunities for this formidable brand online and in a
social media landscape are endless and our future is very bright
indeed.”
Ms McCann succeeds Kirstie Clements who resigned recently after 10
years as editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia and 13 years with the
magazine.
Ms Sheffield said: “On behalf of everyone at NewsLifeMedia and Condé
Nast, I thank Kirstie for the significant contribution she has made to
Vogue during her time as editor-in-chief. She has guided the brand
through a period of great change and has helped lay the foundation for
its future. We wish her the very best.”
